We recognize the achievements and contributions of women of African heritage through both fiction and nonfiction works that are created by, for, or about them in order to honor their significant impact on our community and the world.

The Write-Right Nutrition Program (WRNP)
This program addresses food insecurity challenges disproportionately impacting low-income communities and families with children. Under this program, we host nutrition literacy events in which all participants receive nutrition literacy information and a healthy meal. Low-income individuals, including families with children and/or primary caretakers of children under 17 who experience food insecurity, can apply to enroll in the WRNP program. Eligible applicants will receive free monthly groceries. For more information and to learn how to apply, please email us at info@dfoww.org.
On April 22, 2023, we will host a How to Start a Nonprofit in Georgia Workshop. During the workshop, we will cover all the information required to start a Georgia nonprofit and obtain a 501(c)3 tax-exempt status with the IRS. We will be serving free lunch to all attendees. Participants will receive a 45-minute lunch break in which our staff will serve lunch to all attendees. Lunch will include vegetarian options for those who are vegetarians.
We request that all attendees wear a mask; however, masks are not mandated. Participants will, however, be required to wash their hands and social distance when possible.
