Additional Announcements

DFOWW Incorporated’s special online reading and writing workshop curriculum differs from the 14-week Write-Right Literacy Program (WRLP), which requires interested participants to meet certain requirements to register and enroll. We believe offering free special online workshops helps provide supplementary academic support to individuals on the path to literacy proficiency. These workshops are open to everyone regardless of location but target low-income and minority individuals in our local communities.

The WRLP is a 14-week adult literacy program that prepares adults to take the Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) portion of the GED test. United States residents who are 18 years or older and want to obtain their GED/RLA are encouraged to apply. At-risk 16- & 17-year-old youth seeking enrollment will be considered with verifiable parental consent. Interested candidates should complete the WRLP application located under our website’s Write-Right Literacy Program category.

Program participants must maintain a 70% overall cumulative grade average while enrolled in the program. In addition, during the final week of the semester, only program participants with a 70% or above average will be issued a voucher for $40 to cover the cost of the RLA exam. The nonprofit organization will assist eligible students in registering for the RLA examination at a state-approved, in-person testing facility. Through our programs, our goal is to assist 300 participants each fiscal year.

We are now accepting enrollment applications for the Write-Right Literacy Program (WRLP) spring semester. The semester begins on Monday, February 20, 2023, and ends June 7, 2023. Students must submit their online application by Wednesday, February 15, 2023, 11:59 pm EST

For additional information about the Write-Right Literacy Program, please call our main office at (678)977-9703 or email us at info@dfoww.org

Another program we offer is the Write-Right Nutrition Program (WRNP). This program addresses food insecurity challenges that disproportionally impact low-income communities and families with children. Under this program, we host nutrition literacy events in which all participants are provided with nutrition literacy information and a healthy meal. Low-income individuals including families with children and/or primary caretakers of children under the age of 17 who experience food insecurity can apply to enroll in the WRNP program. Eligible applicants will receive free monthly groceries. For more information and to learn how to apply, please email us at info@dfoww.org.

Congratulations to our new Write-Right Literacy Program Instructor, Mrs. Ashea Goldson.

Love is in the Air (fundraising campaign)

For the entire month of February, we will be publishing real-life stories of people who found true love. Do you have an amazing and inspirational love story? We want to hear, publish, and share your story with our 10,000 combined social media followers. This is your chance to get your love story published online for others to enjoy.

Please follow the Love is in the Air submission guidelines which can be found on our official website in the Write-Right Stories Program drop-down menu tab. Once we have received your love story submission, your name will be entered into the contest drawing to win a $100.00 grocery gift card. The winner will be announced at 3 pm EST on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

In other news, we are pleased to officially announce we will be launching The Write-Right Business Program (WRBP) beginning February 1, 2023.

The Write-Right Business Program (WRBP)

Many people want to start their own businesses but lack the skills and resources to become an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship, however, paves the way for generating wealth and higher earnings. The benefits of entrepreneurship extend beyond the businesses they establish. Many want to start a nonprofit to pursue a mission they care deeply about.

The Write-Right Business Program Workshop (WRBP) will carefully guide participants through the step-by-step process of starting a nonprofit organization in Georgia. All the essential steps will be covered, including:

  • Drafting the business goals and objectives
  • Identifying the audience
  • Gathering information
  • Researching
  • Describing products and services
  • Marketing and sales planning
  • Financial projections annual and impact reports.

In an effort to help build the community, we offer academic and nutrition literacy, information about writing and self-publishing, and community resource workshops. If you are interested in learning more about our programs and event booking fees, please email us at info@dfoww.org.

DFOWW Incorporated’s contact information has been updated as follows:

All monthly special readings, writing workshops, and the WRLP schedules will be available in our website’s Announcement category on the sixth calendar day of each month. Please note that the date may change depending on national holidays and the board of directors’ recess periods.

We have also updated our Logophiles word game rules. Winners will receive $20.

All the programs we offer are free of charge; however, to make this possible, we rely on donations from the public. If you are interested in donating to help fund the Write-Right Literacy Program and/or the Write-Right Nutrition Program, please visit our PayPal Giving Fund at the following link: https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/3946649 Because we are a 501(c)3 federal tax-exempt nonprofit charity organization, all donations made to the charity organization are tax deductible.
