Additional Announcements

DFOWW INCORPORATED’S special online reading and writing workshop curriculum differs from the 14-week Write-Right Literacy Program (WRLP), which requires interested participants to meet certain requirements to register and enroll. We believe providing free special online workshops helps to provide supplementary academic support to individuals on the path to literacy proficiency. These workshops are open to everyone (both locally and globally) but target low-income and minority individuals in our immediate communities.

The WRLP is a 14-week adult literacy program that prepares adults to successfully take the Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) portion of the GED test. United States residents, 18 years of age or older, wanting to obtain their GED/RLA, are encouraged to apply. Interested candidates should complete the WRLP application on our website under the Write-Right Literacy Program category. All participants successfully completing the three-and-a-half-month virtual literacy program will receive $200.00 in financial reward scholarships (GED vouchers). Our goal is to assist 300 participants each fiscal year through our programs.

The Write-Right Literacy Program spring semester tentative start date is January 9, 2023 – May 3, 2023. Spring Semester: January 9, 2023 – May 3, 2023. Students must submit their application by the following dates:

Registration begins November 28, 2022, and the registration deadline is December 30, 2022. Currently, our staff is preparing for the spring semester, so more information will be forthcoming.
Another program we offer is the Write-Right Nutrition Program (WRNP). This program addresses the food insecurity challenges that disproportionally impact low-income communities and families with children on the path to literacy. Under this program, all WRLP registered participants, in compliance with program guidelines, will also receive free food and grocery gift cards to purchase food for themselves and their children. In addition, we have officially opened our nutrition program to include senior citizens who experience food insecurity. For more information and how to apply, please email us at info@dfoww.org.
