Word Game
One of the ways we build vocabulary is by word association. The goal of this word association game, is to help our participants make connections between words.
Directions:
1. Select the group of words that are direct synonyms, of the subject words listed below. For this game, participants are encouraged to use google and or the dictionary to ascertain unfamiliar word definitions.
2. Select two new words, that you have learned from this game and write two sentences correctly using the words. Please post your answers in the comment section below on our website.
Example:
Loud (subject word)
A. screaming | yelling | cry out
B. noisy | blaring | raucous
C. quiet | silent | quiescent
D. bustle | scamper | rush
Correct answer
B
The raucous crowd booed, the comedian’s *indecorous jokes.
Now that summer vacation is over, and all the children are back in school; during school hours, the neighborhood is quiescent.
*indecorous
Definition:
not in keeping with good taste and propriety; improper.
